Ms. Bowjangles Tall, designed by Anna Boch and David Engelhorn for Ingo Maurer in 2023, recalls the magic trick known as ‘Stiff Rope’, in which a soft textile rope turns rigid as if by magic and carries objects. Here an orange or olive green rope swings effortlessly up a black metal rod in a wide arch and winds around a large black metal shade.
As a floor lamp it stands on a black base plate with its rod, light and flexible, all clear lines and curves. A downlight in the shade and an additional uplight give plenty of warm light, even in large rooms; the arch is easy to adjust, and a foot dimmer in the cable switches and dims the lamp.
