Silver Blue slate is a delicate pale gray color. Slate is formed by the alteration of soft shale and mudstone. Changing pressure and temperature conditions cause the stone to solidify and harden, creating a dense and sturdy material. This formation process means that slate is created in layers which are easily cleaved into slabs, ready to be shaped into tiles. It is a hardwearing stone, capable of resisting heavy wear and tear. But its uses don’t stop there, slate makes a beautiful backsplash or bathroom wall tile, creating a rugged and earthy look.

These tiles have a natural cleft face, a rugged finish achieved by simply carving the stone into tiles and leaving its texture intact. The stone’s grooves, ridges, and bumps are retained leaving an earthy design that looks great contrasted against sleek bathroom suites and white walls.
These tiles also have a gauged back. This is a leveling of the stone’s back in order to aid with application. They are ideal for internal flooring applications which require a completely flat walking surface.
